Dear All,

We would like to kindly remind you about the approaching deadline (January 31, 2025) for submitting abstracts for presentations during the session TS8. GEODIVERSITY AND GEOHERITAGE FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT organized by the IAG WG on Geomorphosites and WG on Dynamic geodiversity of critical zones in mountain areas and polar regions DYNAgeoZONES at IAG Regional Conference on Geomorphology 2025 in Timisoara (Romania).

Conveners: Lucie Kubalíková, Paola Coratza, Fabien Hobléa, Zbigniew Zwolinski, Alicja Najwer, Marco Giardino

The session underscores the growing scientific recognition of geodiversity and geoheritage, their underappreciation by policymakers and the public, their vulnerability to threats such as urbanization, and their alignment with the UN’s 2030 Agenda and IUCN resolutions, while inviting contributions on geomorphosite dynamics, risk assessment, and social-cultural aspects.

We invite oral and poster presentations.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 31 January 2025.
