Joint 6th Central-European Mineralogical Conference and 9th Mineral Sciences in the Carpathians Conference 2024 (CEMC-MSCC 2024)

2–4 September, 2024, Visegrád, Hungary

Welcome to the Joint 2024 6th CEMC and 9th MSCC!

Scope

In 2024 the 6^th Central European Mineralogical Conference and the 9^th Mineral Sciences in the Carpathians Conference will be organized jointly between the 2^nd of September and 4^th of September in Visegrád, Hungary. Our aim is to offer a stable and suitable meeting point for mineral scientists (mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry and their applications) of the Carpathian-Pannonian-Alpine-Dinaride region.

We also welcome colleagues from outside Central-Europe. We firmly believe that this joint MSCC-CEMC conference, just like the previous ones, will initiate new research projects and educational co-operations in the close future. The programme will be complemented with two one-day field trips – one before (on the 2^nd) and one after (on the 5th) the conference in Hungary.

This will be an important meeting to bring the scientist of the region together in person to discuss and exchange ideas and present the current research.

Planned schedule

Monday (Day 1), 2^nd of September 2024

Pre-conference fieldtrip to the Abbey of Pannonhalma, to visit the recently opened historical mineral collections and visit the abbey (optional).

Evening at Visegrád: arrival, registration, welcome reception, opening of the conference.

Tuesday (Day 2), 3^rd of September 2024

Plenary lectures, presentations, posters.

Evening: Conference dinner (optional).

Wednesday (Day 3), 4^th of September 2024

Plenary lectures, presentations, posters.

Evening: closing of the conference.

Thursday (Day 4), 5^th of September 2024

Post-conference fieldtrip to Csódi-hill, Dunabogdány (optional).

Registration fee for students and seniors: EUR 180

Regular registration fee is: EUR 270

Conference diner: EUR 45
