Fájó szívvel tudatjuk, hogy életének 91. esztendejében, március 20-án elhunyt Jámbor Áron geológus, a földtudományok doktora az MFT tiszteleti tagja.

A magyarországi pannon képződmények átfogó értékeléséért 1988-ban Akadémiai Díjjal tüntették ki. A hazai kvarter kutatások kiemelkedő alakja.

Búcsúztatására szűk családi körben kerül sor.
