18. Téli Ásványtudományi Iskola 2. körlevél

Leírás:

Kedves Kollégák,

Téli Ásványtudományi Iskolát idén Veszprémben a Pannon Egyetem Konferenciaközpontjában rendezzük meg 2023. február 10-11-én (péntek-szombat).

A végleges program az iskola honlapján megtekinthető (http://mposfai.hu/TAI/tai.htm).

Röviden a programról:

- péntek délelőtt  kicsit kitekintünk a földtudományhoz kötődő ásványtanból, és új módszerekkel, anyagokkal és globális kihívásokkal ismerkedünk; ez a leginkább "iskola" jellegű rész;

- a péntek délután exobolygók ásványairól hallunk, majd egy karbonátos blokk következik;

- a pénteki nap egy könnyebben befogadható, tudománytörténeti fókuszú és várhatóan derűs perceket is szerző előadásokkal zárul;

- péntek esti vizuális szenzáció (vagy szombat reggeli, ez az egyetemen zajló egyéb rendezvényektől függ): megtekinthető a Nanolab elektronmikroszkópos felvételeiből készült kiállítás az Aulában;

Dear Colleagues,

The 18th Winter School in Mineral Sciences will be held in Veszprém at the Conference Hall of the University of Pannonia on the 10-11th February 2023 (Friday-Saturday). The final program of the school is available on the website of the meeting (http://mposfai.hu/TAI/tai.htm).

Some comments about the program:

- Friday morning we start with talks that go beyond traditional earth science-related mineralogy; new techniques, materials and global challenges will be presented;

- Friday afternoon starts with an exciting topic (mineralogy of exoplanets), followed by a cluster of talks on carbonates;

- as usual, the last session on Friday is on the lighter side but still highly relevant and important to our science;

- hopefully a visual highlight of the program will be a visit to the exhibition of TEM images by Nanolab, U. Pannonia, displayed in the Great Hall of the university (either Fri evening or Sat morning, depending on other events at the university).

- Saturday we will start with hard-rock geochemistry, then the program will conclude with talks on archeo- and biominerals.

Please note that almost the entire city of Veszprém is under construction, including the university. If you arrive by car, please plan your parking in advance - some help is provided on the meeting webpage.

The program is now full but we still welcome registrations of non-presenting participants.

With best regards,

Mihaly Posfai
